Merriam-Webster’s dictionary: New words in 2014

“Crowdfunding.” “Gamification.” “Hashtag.” “Social networking.” “Tweep.” Check out a sampling of more than 150 new words added to Merriam-Webster’s Collegiate Dictionary in 2014.

Merriam-Webster showcased many of these new words as “Word of the Day” during June.

The new additions, according to Merriam-Webster, “reflect the growing influence technology is having on human endeavor, especially social networking, once done mostly in person.”
