Version 2.0 of my Superman/House of El shirt, moves the machine-appliqued crest from one base garment to another, this a dark-green knit shirt with crocheted-lace sleeves.

Version 1.0
I originally constructed shirts for the June 2013 release of the Superman movie, “Man of Steel.” I cut pieces out of T-shirts to form the layered-S.

Jonathan’s crest was blue-black tie-dye against a background of greyish-green, attached to a black short-sleeved T-shirt.

My applique was sewn to a pale-mint lace blouse that, while attractive, wasn’t comfortable to wear.

The redesign preserves Version 1.0’s base garment as an additional border behind the emerald green and yellow crest.

The pale mint, yellow and emerald of the transplanted crest nicely compliment the dark green and light green of the new base garment. And the lace border behind the crest compliments the lace at sleeves and neck.
